Problem of customs clearance
(1) Express freight does not include customs duties, fines, or special delivery charges imposed by the customs at the destination or the transit place. If such charges are incurred and the destination customer refuses to pay them, or the goods cannot be cleared by the customs at the destination, or are rejected and returned by the customs or the recipient, the charges shall be borne by the sender and ultimately subject to the service provider.
(2) After delivery, there may be remote, change of address, residential surcharges, specific according to the bill shall be charged to the sender;
(3) Destination tariff charges: the provisions of the customs tax law of each country are different. The relevant taxes and fees incurred by the destination shall be paid by the recipient. If the recipient of the destination refuses to pay the tariff, the sender shall unconditionally pay the tariff and related fees incurred by the destination. It will be charged directly to the sender according to the Courier bill. If you have any objection, you can contact the destination customer to make payment and provide the payment authorization letter with the payer’s contact information within 7 days. Only then can we help inform the agent to change the payer.
* In particular, shipments that do not meet these requirements will be detained upon arrival at local customs. The local customs will force the shipment to be abandoned after 5 days’ detention. The sender should confirm with the recipient whether the above customs clearance information is complete before shipping the goods. Upon receipt of the goods, we will assume that the relevant information of the goods has been prepared and will not review them. In case of customs clearance delay, penalty, abandonment or return of the goods at the destination, all responsibility and expenses shall be borne by the senders
1. Generally, after sending the goods by international express, do the goods need to go through the local customs?
All international cargoes must pass through customs before they are loaded onto the vessel and after they have been unloaded at the port of destination. Whether you are a consignor or consignee, you will most likely be responsible for import or export clearance and pay taxes on your goods.
If the express is small or the value does not exceed the local customs declaration requirements, the express will be automatically released after customs clearance. If the declared amount is exceeded, the normal import duties will be paid by the customers of the destination country. If the recipient does not pay the customs duties, the express may be returned. Therefore, it is better to ask the receiving customer whether they have the ability of customs clearance and whether they are willing to accept the tariff if any.
It depends on your cargo, in order to ensure a smooth clearance, you need to first accurately describe what you are shipping. For example, by providing the international standard commodity code, the Customs Code (HS), to ensure that the correct customs duties and taxes are applied. It is established by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and is publicly available.
